(Poetry Challenge Week 8)

(Note: This poem has nothing to do with the word tweeted, obviously. I made up the rules of the game which means I get to arbitrarily break them)

I dreamed last night

about death

wrapping around my bones.

Red ribbons

soaking up the marrow,

twisting, splinters coming off in the bits.

I dreamed last night

of pulling the ribbons from my bones

and running them through my hair.

The deep crimson of loss

staining my forehead.
