(Poetry Challenge Week 4)
You beat down on my heart,
like a child with a drum.
No sense of the timing,
missing and adding beats.
Hammering pounds
breaking through my ribs.
Smiling as time turns
cacophony to music.
(As written this morning in the shower then typed out on my phone.)
