Project 52 Week 3
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving is the day we celebrate having food by eating as much of it as we possibly can! It's the day we try to eat every turkey, sweet potato, and cranberry on the face of the earth! It's a tradition, and you know how much I love tradition.
Okay, that is a bit of an exaggeration, but on the topic of favorites, I love Thanksgiving and many of the traditions that go along with it. Unlike most holidays, the tradition of Thanksgiving is spending time with the people you are grateful to have in your life. It is not about getting anything or doing anything specific, it is about being together and being thankful. There's something there that should be everyone's favorite.
My family starts getting ready for Christmas over Thanksgiving. It is a tradition and, as stated above, I do love tradition. And I do love Christmas and the entire month of December. I hate to be cold, I hate the snow, I hate winter in general, but I love the Christmas season. I love to dress up in bright colors and drink cider and mulled wine with friends. I love that we have taken a time that is dark and strung brightly colored lights across so that the world around us glows and twinkles like starlight. I love the experience of Thanksgiving and Christmas.
So, tomorrow I will get up and put on some bright and lovely leggings with a cozy sweater and spend the weekend with people I am thankful to have in my life, preparing to celebrate a season that I am thankful for.
