Project 52 Week 10

I hate posed photos.

I pull out my camera to take an interesting picture of someone and they see me out of the corner of their eye, turn, and put on a cheesy smile. Which is very frustrating for me because I don't like posed photos. Posed photos are people putting on an act of who they are, rather than being who they are. Which, I suppose, is why I often take pictures of people while their backs are turned or from a distance or while they are engrossed in something else. I like those pictures a lot better, they may not be "technically" good, but they are more genuine pictures to me.

Photography, to me, is about capturing what I see and how I see it. I think that is why I like faceless portraits so much. I see people a certain way and want to capture that and show others.

I don't know. I have a lot of thoughts on this subject. However, I do not seem to be articulate enough to put them into words right now.
